How You Can Help
There are several rewarding ways in which you can help Feline Urgent Rescue & Rehabilitation and show your love and concern for kitties that need to be rescued. You can become a kitty foster parent, volunteer your services to help trap and transport feral cats to the spay neuter clinic, donate items on the list below, make a financial contribution through PayPal or directly into Terry’s account with Mercy Animal Hospital…and if you can think of anything else please let us know!
Foster Homes for Kitties – Terry always has a long list of kitties that need to be rescued but the Kitty Lodge can accommodate only so many kitties so having a few foster moms and dads would really help. Fostering can be a very rewarding experience for a family or an individual. You will get to enjoy the company of a lovely kitty for awhile, and you will be helping to save a kitty’s life! If you would like to be the foster parent of a rescued kitty, please contact Terry right away!
Below is a list of items* that we always need for the kitties:
- Paper towels
- Trash bags & large zip lock baggies
- Disinfectant Spray cleaner (such as Clorox)
- Clorox Bleach
- Furry blankies
- Cat toys
- Cat food (for the adoptable kitties in the Kitty Lodge, and also for the feral colonies that Terry cares for)
- Litter (we can use any brand you give us, but prefer Arm & Hammer scoopable because it clumps well and is less dusty than some of the other brands, and so this cuts down on the litter dust in the kitties’ rooms)
- Towels
- Bird seed for the bird feeders outside of the kitties’ windows
- Revolution and Advantage Multi for cats
- We can also use cat carriers and humane traps that are in good shape (don’t want any escapees!)
If you have any items you would like to donate to F.U.R.R you can contact Terry to make drop off arrangements, and Terry & some of the kitties are usually at the Petsmart in the Blakeney Shopping Center on Saturday so you can meet Terry there (contact Terry to make sure she’ll be there on a specific day).
Volunteer at the Kitty Lodge! Can’t adopt or make a financial contribution? This is your chance to help F.U.R.R. and the kitties by spending time with the kitties in the Kitty Lodge. You can help Terry take care of the kitties, play with them and give them lots of love and cuddles by becoming a Kitty Lodge volunteer! This would be a big help for Terry and the kitties would love to have you visit them!
Our biggest need, of course, is money for veterinary care and spaying & neutering. You can make a donation* to Feline Urgent Rescue & Rehabilitation by either sending a check to our mailing address or using our PayPal donation page. All donations made through PayPal are secure, and if you don’t have a PayPal account you can still make a secure donation through PayPal using your credit card. Every $1 counts and gets us that much closer to saving another kitty!
Mercy Animal Hospital – You can also make a donation directly into Terry’s account with Mercy Animal Hospital in Indian Trail, NC. You can call in a contribution using your credit card, or send a check (see their web site for the address and phone number). Be sure to specify that contributions go into the account of Terry Schultz for the F.U.R.R. rescued kitties! Drs. Charles & Dawn Jones have been very kind in helping the rescued kitties with discounted rescue rates for veterinary services. Thank you Drs. Jones and many purrs!
Gift Cards – You can make a donation in the form of gift cards for Petsmart, Complete Petmart, Target, Walmart, and Amazon.com and other online pet supply stores.
